Job Seekers Queue at Leavesden Studio Jobs Fair

Job-seekers queued for up to two hours before the opening of the Making of Harry Potter tour jobs fair held at the Hunton Park De Vere Hotel last week.

The event at the hotel which is adjacent to Leavesden Studios attracted “scores of people” according to the local newspaper who came to find out details of jobs on offer at the site.

When Warner Brother’s purchase of Leavesden Studios was first announced it was believed that around 300 jobs would be created at the visitor attraction which is to be opened at the site where Harry Potter has been filmed for the past decade.

Plans for 425 homes near Leavesden Studio rejected

MEPC Business Estates, the commercial property company that owns the Leavesden Park development of media offices adjacent to the site of Leavesden Studios, has had a planning application for the construction of 425 new homes rejected.

Watford Borough Council’s development control committee rejected the application two weeks ago as it would be built on green belt land which was considered unacceptable.

Plans for the site which overlook the famous Leavesden Film Studios stated that 30% of homes would be made available to social tenants and also included the construction of a hotel.
