About Leavesden Studios

Leavesden Studios is one of only a few places in the UK where large scale film productions can be made.

The studios, which consist of 500,000 sq ft (50,000 m²) of indoor space and a 100 acre backlot, are located on the site of a former World War II airfield.  Leavesden is just north of the town of Watford and about 20 miles north-west of London.

The first film shot at Leavesden was GoldenEye in 1995, the first time James Bond was portrayed by Pierce Brosnan. Since then a number of blockbuster movies have been created at the Hertfordshire site.

For the last decade the studio has been home to the Harry Potter franchise.
